No messing about here, let's get baking...
Trying to get in shape but constantly having to battle your chocolate cravings? I hear you!
These brownies not only taste amazing but will provide you with healthy fats from the avocado, potassium from the bananas and 5g of protein per brownie.
Makes 12 5g protein per brownie
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup of Mashed Ripe Avocado (1 avocado)
- 1 Mashed Ripe Banana
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1/2 Cup of Light Brown Sugar or Caster Sugar
- 1 Cup of Dark Cocoa Powder (I mix normal cocoa powder in as well)
- 1 tsp of Baking Powder
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 180C Fan, and line your 20 x 30cm baking tray with grease proof paper.
- Mash your avocado using a fork or food processor. Once you are sure you have created a smooth paste from the avocados tip them into a mixing bowl. Now repeat this step with the banana, again making sure you create a smooth mix; add to the mixing bowl and mix in with the avocado.
- Add eggs, milk and maple syrup to the mixture and mix in thoroughly with an electric whisk.
- Measure out your sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder and add to the mixture. Mix all the ingredients together.
- Carefully spoon your mixture into your baking tray, making sure it is evenly spread.
- Place in the oven to bake for 35 minutes. When the brownies are cooked leave them to cool in the tray. When fully cooled remove from the tray and cut into 12 pieces.
I hope you enjoy these healthier brownies!
Happy Baking x
